Annual Hlanganani Traditional Music Festival

In 2011, our company developed a festival concept called “The Annual Hlanganani Traditional Music and Arts Festivals” which seeks to promote and uplift traditional and urban music & dance in South Africa and Africa. “Hlanganani” is aNguniword meaning “come together” and hence the aim of this festival concept is to bring artists and people from a particular tradition or music genre together through music festivals. Our nation has a scarcity of upcoming prominent traditional artists and traditional music events of national or international caliber. While other countries enjoy nationally and international acclaimed traditional events we still struggle to have an annual event that promote and uplift our tradition and heritage.
Tembisa and Alexandra or Gauteng in general has recently attracted negative publicist during the Xenophobia attacks on which people both SA citizen and from neighborhood Countries lost their lives. This event proved to be the vehicle and be a glorious opportunity to bury the hatred and celebrate as a unity.
